A variety of surgical maneuvers require the insertion of and manipulation of wire pieces. Examples include stabilization of the vertebrae post-laminectomy or hemilaminectomy procedures. This reduces instability of the vertebral column and reduces shock and trauma to the site of surgery during recovery. Additionally this wire twister features tungsten carbide inserts.
